Pete Bonet & Louie Ramirez - The Beautiful People Pete Bonet and Louie Ramirez had worked together many times prior to this recording and decided to join forces and record for this album in 1970. Come to think of it, the ubiquitous Louie Ramirez has worked with just about every well-known Latin music artist there is, either as composer, arranger, or percussive musician. He excels in being able to engrave his unique style in the many instruments he presides over including vibes, piano, organ (which is featured in the second cut, Ese Tipo) and timbales, which can be appreciated throughout this entire album. You can hear how well Pete and Louie blend in the first cut of this album. Each one compliments the other with their unique styles of excitement creation. The fourth cut, Joe Gaines Express, is there to recognize a NY DJ, but was originally entitled Dixie’s Mambo on one of Louie’s recordings for producer, Richard Marin; named after Richard’s dog, Dixie. Other material in this album was carefully selected by the duo in order to bring the listener enjoyment in dancing and listening. Bobby Marin
